Are melanistic Eastern garter snakes still in the hobby?

Just haven't seen any in a while and was curious .
Sent several to breeders and dealers in the 90's.
Everyone acted like they were uncommon, but I'd guess there's areas in N.W. Ohio where they're 10% if not more of the wild population.
